Второй по величине российский мобильный оператор Мегафон увеличил чистую прибыль во втором квартале в восемь раз в годовом выражении, превзойдя прогнозы аналитиков, и сообщил, что купит оператора связи четвертого поколения Скартел / Йота за $1,2 миллиарда.

Из опубликованного в четверг отчета компании следует, что ее чистая прибыль выросла до 13,6 миллиарда рублей во втором квартале 2013 года с 1,7 миллиарда рублей годом ранее, тогда как аналитики прогнозировали 12,4 миллиарда рублей. Выручка увеличилась на 8,4 процента в годовом выражении до 72,2 миллиарда рублей, OIBDA — на 21,8 процента до 34,3 миллиарда рублей при прогнозе 32,4 миллиарда рублей.

Мегафон сообщил в четверг, что одобрил покупку Йоты и рассчитывает за счет нее улучшить пропускную способность сети и сэкономить на развертывании 4G/LTE в России. "В наиболее короткие сроки мы сможем обеспечить доступ к высокоскоростному интернету на всей территории России, включая и города-миллионники, и малые населенные пункты. Благодаря увеличению ширины спектра частот мы сможем обеспечить более высокое качество услуги нашим клиентам", — цитируется в сообщении гендиректор Мегафона Иван Таврин.
