Руководители США и ЕС решили начать переговоры о создании трансатлантической зоны свободной торговли, объявил в понедельник председатель Европейского совета Херман ван Ромпей.

Как заявил Б.Обама, выступление которого на саммите приводит агентство Bloomberg, первый раунд переговоров пройдет в Вашингтоне в следующем месяце.

По словам Д.Кэмерона, подобное соглашение может стать крупнейшей двусторонней торговой сделкой в мировой истории и окажет более значительное
влияние на мировую торговлю, чем все остальные международные договоренности вместе взятые.

По подсчетам Еврокомиссии, в результате в Европе будет создано до 400 тыс. рабочих мест, что приведет к ежегодному приросту ВВП в размере 0,5%.
В США соглашение позволит к 2027 году ускорить экономический рост на 0,4%.

В центре переговоров будет гармонизация стандартов (от автомобильных ремней безопасности до моющих средств), а также вопросы государственного регулирования в части снятия нетарифных барьеров. По оценкам экспертов, это должно обеспечить рост объема торговли с нынешнего $1 трлн примерно на $120 млрд за 5 лет.

Эксперты называют эту сделку самой амбициозной попыткой реформирования мировой торговли после создания в 1995 году Всемирной торговой организации.

Новая зона, в случае ее создания, охватит половину мировой экономики и треть мировой торговли.
